6 Mar 2012Our annual dinner was held in the Burlington last Thursday(1st March). The night was well suported by members, with numbers attending up on last years event. Noel Brett from the RSA, unable to attend due to flu, sent a strong message of support for the Accreditation and stated that the RSA will work with the ITIA on the programme. Sarah Sillars(IMI) stepped in to present the Certificates to the newly qualified ATA accredited Tyre Technicians.
We held our AGM at the Burlington, Dublin on 1st March. Kevin Farrell was elected as our President and Thom Fox was elected as our Treasurer. A number of new members were elected to the National Executive Council: Darren Darker and Audrey Daly were voted onto the retail sector, John O Keeffe onto the recycling section and Con Culhane onto the Equipment supplier section. If you have any issues you would like your council to work on please contact a member of the council.

24 Jan 2012From November 2012 the EU is introducing compulsory Tyre labelling, which will ensure all new tyres are labelled with clear ratings for wet grip, noise and fuel efficiency. It is a Europe wide initiative and the legislation will be identical in all member states. Manufacturers, Retailers and vehicle suppliers and manufacturers have legal obligations under the legislation.
